Call for Papers: Women in Politics Symposium Apr. 1, 2022

Proposals from faculty and graduate and undergraduate students due February 18

The conference is supported in part by the Susan B. Hansen Fund honoring Hansen, Professor Emerita of Political Science and past Director of Pitt's Women's Studies Program.

The University of Pittsburgh Political Science Department and the Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies Program invite proposals for the Women in Politics Symposium, to be held on April 1st, 2022. The deadline for proposals is February 18th, 2022. Faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students, as well as journalists and practitioners, are welcome. We encourage submissions from all social science, humanities, and policy disciplines.  We also welcome volunteers willing to serve as panel chairs and paper discussants. Descriptions of the opportunities to participate are as follows:

Paper Presentations. Proposals from any participants are welcome for traditional academic paper presentations. These sessions involve several participants presenting research papers with a common theme, a chair coordinating the session, and an expert discussant providing feedback for each presenter.

Graduate and Undergraduate Lightning Talks and Posters. Proposals from graduate and undergraduate are welcome for lightning talks and posters. These sessions involve several participants presenting projects with a common theme and an expert discussant providing feedback for each presenter.
