Support LGBTQIA+ Research & Outreach at Pitt

Dear Alumni/ae and Friends of Pitt’s Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies (GSWS) Program:

The Pitt LGBTQIA+ Alumni Council, the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies (GSWS) Program in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, and the Pitt Queer Professionals (PQP) Affinity Group of staff and faculty are teaming up to support student work in LGBTQIA+ studies at Pitt.

Many students are interested in doing research or community outreach related to HIV/AIDS, trans* adolescents, queer history, LGBTQIA+ social work and human rights, and much more. We have students who want careers related to LGBTQIA+ or who want to go on to graduate school with this focus. Therefore, we are starting a LGBTQIA+ Research and Outreach Fund to provide support for undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Pittsburgh. The fund will be used for conducting research relating to LGBTQIA+ Studies including, but not limited to, research projects, internships, travel to conferences/seminars, on-campus involvement, and volunteerism.

A gift, no matter its size, will promote the development of this thriving academic community for students at the University of Pittsburgh. Thank you in advance for your support.
