Weiming Gorman

Dr. Weiming Gorman received her PhD in rhetoric at the University of Pittsburgh. She attended Extended Diversity Experience at the University Teaching and Learning Center in 2019 during which she revised and updated a women’s rhetoric course. She teaches global and US women’s rhetoric, which examines how women in the US and around the globe utilize rhetoric (speeches, writings, symbols and images) to advance their agenda and clamor for a gender egalitarian society.

She presented a peer reviewed poster presentation at Pennsylvania Communication Association 80th Annual Convention in 2019. Her presentation was entitled: “We hold up half the sky: global and US women’s rhetoric.” Here is a link to the poster:

Her area of research includes feminist pedagogy and global feminist discourse. Her forthcoming publication is entitled “Revitalize lifelong learners: teaching gender in a lifelong learning classroom.”
